Category A (SCH): School Student


Criteria 1
CREATIVITY & INNOVATIVE Originality and adaptivity Satisfies FOUR elements: Creative idea focused on problem-solving, defined by a careful design approach and relevant to the current needs/situation.

LEVEL OF IMPLEMENTATION Level of development and implementation level Able to produce the real product and ready to be used/commercialized by the end-user
Criteria 3
INNOVATION UNIQUE SELLING POINTS Time & cost saver Time & cost-saving features are clearly identified, and their justification is described clearly and detailed.
Increase productivity Satisfies FOUR elements: MOTIVE, QUALITY, EFFICIENCY & EXPECTATIONS
Ease of use There is “ease of use” elements identified in the innovation and clearly described with details.
Sustainability Great points of the sustainability potential of the product are described.
Criteria 4
INNOVATION SIGNIFICANCE Level of significance Impact significantly on the outside organization OR higher level of involvement with proof of detailed documentary evidence.
Criteria 5
POSTER PRESENTATION Content The poster presentation is creative, attractive, and catchy.
Presentation skills The presenter describes the content sufficiently, clearly and in brief with confidence.
Exhibition/ booth/ prototype Creatively decorated, attractive and informative.
Q & A Able to respond and answer very well with high relevancy and justification described.


Category B (UNI) : University and Technical Institution Student


Criteria 1

Guidelines for Poster Presentation


  1. Layout and format
  2. Each poster should have a portrait layout and be in the A1-format (width x height) 594 mm x 841 mm.

  3. Poster heading
  4. The poster heading should follow the template for each category which can be downloaded below.
    Each poster should have the following items where preferably included in the poster heading:

    • PIID2023 logo to be put on the above left side of the poster
    • The institution/company logo (if available) is to be put on the above right side of the poster.
    • Full project title
    • Category (A, B or C)
    • Name of all the group members and the institution/company represented

  5. Poster content
  6. The poster should cover all key aspects of the work and contain the following items, where applicable:

    • Creative and innovative
      • Showing an idea that focusing on the problem solving, relevant to the current needs/situation.
    • Development and functionality
      • Showing the development stage of the product/innovation and its usage/execution at any level.
    • Unique selling points
      • Is the product/innovation could save time and cost, increase productivity and easy to use?
    • Innovation significance and recognition
      • Providing proof for the significant impact of the product/innovation including any publication/patent/award/recognition.
    • Presentable
      • The poster should be creative, catchy, clear and brief.
